World Book Night

World Book Night is an annual celebration designed to spread a love of reading and books. It is being held in the U.S. as well as the U.K. and Ireland on April 23, 2012. Tens of thousands of people go out into their communities to spread the joy and love of reading by giving out free World Book Night paperbacks.
Jeanne Hanes, a retired Solon Community School district teacher, applied and was accepted to be a World Book Night U.S. Book giver. She will be distributing a free paperback book, The Book Thief, to twenty of her former second grade students on April 23 in the high school media center.
